When Katie originally told me that she wanted me to capture the two of them, I was excited. Then nervous. Then REALLY nervous. Kate’s a fantastic photographer over at Kate Baker Photography so the pressure was ON. I truly love photographing other photographers, though – and I had so much fun with Katie and Jason. I also had the chance to take some headshots of Katie for her website, and I so so love them. This session is the first time I’ve ever been to the Kennebunk/Kennebunkport area and I’ve lived in Maine my whole life. Whoa. We started downtown and I fell in LOVE with the locations.

A quick move toward the beach and we found a fantastic field to shoot in. It’s so helpful that Kate uses these locations for her clients and knew about them ahead of time! ;) 

By the time we got to the beach, the wind was insane. We were a little  chilly but I am so glad they toughed it out for me. It was worth every second!

From the way they smile at each other to the kisses they place on their baby’s sweet cheeks, I think I melted over 48 times during their session. They’re getting married THIS month, at Johnny’s parents home in Massachusetts, and I could not be happier to call them clients. When my sweet couples have babies, I always start the session including them. It’s typical that my couples don’t have a ton of professional photos of themselves together but evenmore so that they don’t have any with their little bundle. Johnny’s mom came to the session to play with little Fox while we focused on the two of them and it worked out perfectly. Have I mentioned that I love these three?

Bridal Session are something I rarely get to shoot because they’re just not very popular in New England. So, when Aimee asked me to shoot her Bridal Session, I jumped at the chance! We shot her bridal session in City Park. It was a beautifully sunny 75º degree day and so hard to believe that such an enormous and gorgeous park was in the heart of such a fast paced city like New Orleans.

Meaghan and Jordan are all love. They’ve been together for 7 years, making them junior high school sweethearts. You may remember a few images from their engagement session being taken out at a waterfall and at the family camp. It was obvious to me, that day, that these two are meant to be always. My heart is happier just being around them. Meaghan and Jordan are so perfect in front of my camera and I could (WOULD) photograph them all day. True love.

Every time I see them I have so much fun.. that it makes me wish we could just keep shooting forever. Before our session it was Spring. Then… it snowed. We weren’t really sure which way we should lean with photos, but of course I decided that we should just do BOTH. For these two, I would have done Summer and Fall photos at the same time (but I think Jon would have been a little chilly in his bikini!) ;)

Specifically, they both really enjoy sailing. As soon as Lydia told me her ideas for their engagement session I was totally inspired! A sailboat? Hell yeah! Then I found out that I would have to be delivered to that sailboat by dinghy. Apparently I was so inspired about everything going on that I forgot where sailboats live. Luckily I made it in and out of that beautiful water without harm – thanks to the help of Clark and Lydia. And not to make myself sounds super awesome or anything – but I was definitely out in the water on that little baby row boat ALONE at one point. So – why has it taken me so long to blog this session and brag about my adventure into the beautiful waters of Maine? I have no idea. ;)

 

First we met up and visited Lydia’s family camp. Holy stunning. I think I’d like to move in.

Once we had enough bug bites from camp we decided to head to another cute place nearby. I’m not sure I would ever be able to find this place again – but it was beautiful. 

This is when the fun really started. Obviously I photographed them while scooting out to the boat ;)

Oh and have I mentioned that every single image was worth it? Looking back I think “Ha! What a baby I was.” So feel free to contact me for another, equally freaky but awesome session.

 

Lydia + Clark, you two are amazing and inspiring and I miss you already! I also miss the warm days of July. Thanks for hiring me for these amazing moments :)

I absolutely LOVE this apple orchard. Not only are they SO kind in letting me use it to photograph any time I’d like but the light is killer and the apples… are amazing. Now that I’m hungry, I will end my rant and share the beauty with you.
