Yesterday I met 6 day old Aisla in her home. When I walked in Aisla’s big sister, Auriana, was snuggling with Aisla. It was probably the most precious thing I’d ever seen. Auriana told me that she was excited about the photo shoot and… she definitely wasn’t lying! Auriana helped out for most of the shoot (until she saw her best friend outside) and even had the chance to pose Aisla however she wanted. (Not shown). I’ve know Aisla’s parents for a long time, since high school, and I was so excited when mom was pregnant. Meagan is a fantastic mom of THREE. Austin was not as excited about the photo shoot, though he did like wearing my tu-tu’s and headbands. Ha! This family was so much fun. Thank you so much Meagan and Derek! I had a blast with you guys, and I’m thankful that you didn’t think I was crazy when it took me 5 trips to bring all my props in. ;)

Adeline — Maine Baby Photographer
I’ve been scheduled to meet Adeline for her first birthday (which is actually tomorrow – wish her happy birthday!) for months. Adeline and her parents, Aaron & Amy, live in Colorado and only come home to Maine every so often. Today we moved our photoshoot from 4pm to 2:30pm so that Amy and Aaron could still spend time with family and I was nervous! I was really concerned with the light, but today was wonderfully cloudy and worked out perfectly.. other than Adeline being a little chilly. I think we were all pretty chilly! Adeline wasn’t sure what to think of me and my camera but she did, however, LOVE to view her photos after I snapped a few. She’s a total diva in training. ;) Thanks Amy & Aaron! Adeline is perfect and I hope she enjoys her birthday (and party!).
(And by the way – we DID get some shots of her smiling, but I’m saving those for mom & dad to see a little later!)

Neglected — Maine Photographer
Okay I admit it.. I’ve neglected any blog reader that I have lately. I’m sorry! Things have been so busy (for so many reasons). All week I have really fun photoshoots planned…! Things calm down a bit more for the rest of the month so that I can work on editing all the images and creating fun albums & other products for my clients (you). Here’s a sneak peek of what I’ve been up to in the past two weeks.
Tiffany & Heather.. this session was so much fun. We started at their home & ended up in Cape Elizabeth at a friends home. I think that any house in Cape Elizabeth is beautiful, by default, but this one had such great features!
Messalonskee Softball Seniors.. We attempted this session twice but we were rained out each time! Finally I headed to their school while it was in session and they made their way to the field to meet with me. They said they had lunch that period, but I think they were skipping class … ;)
Chelsea & Jason.. This was the session where I hurt my knee! Luckily Jason was kind enough to go get his car & drive me to each location we were using. And Chelsea sat with me so I wouldn’t attempt to walk anymore. We finished the session!
Kara & Ashton.. This was my first mommy & me session. I think that the photos are BEAUTIFUL and Kara & Corey are expecting a little girl in June! :) Hopefully I get to meet her. If she looks anything like Ashton, Kara & Corey will be in luck! ;)
Chelsea & Andrew — Maine Engagement Photographer
On Saturday I was supposed to meet up with Chelsea and Andrew but it snowed or rained or something like that. So we rescheduled to this afternoon and I’m so glad we did. The weather was perfect! It was a little windy when we started and I think Chelsea was a bit chilly (Sorry girl!) but we shot for two hours and we definitely got some good stuff. I’m thrilled with the VARIETY of moments we were able to capture! Chelsea and Andrew are getting married next month and we have some exciting photos planned for the big day, too. I’m thrilled to be a part of their wedding day, especially on such short notice. Usually I am booked months in advance. :) I think we were meant to find each other.. I know that Chelsea probably looked at all the photos and then came back up to read what I had to say (let’s face it – the photos are the fun part anyway) so I guess I will stop typing!

Kasey & Josh — Maine Engagement Photographer
Back at the beginning of April, when it wasn’t snowing (Really, what’s with the snow?) I met up with Kasey and Josh to shoot their engagement photos. I met them last summer when I photographed Josh’s sister’s wedding. What I remembered about these two (other than the fact that they are pretty good looking) is their adorable daughter who’s now 3 I believe. And when I returned Kasey’s call about our session — the little one answered the phone! She was hilarious (and still adorable). This session was about Kasey and Josh, though, not their cute child. Our session had a few different themes and they were both naturals in front of the camera. I’m still trying to convince them that they want to fly me to the Bahamas for their wedding, maybe these shots will be the deciding factor for them?! ;) A girl can dream…

Baby O — Maine Baby Photographer
Today I was able to spend a few hours with a gorgeous little angel! Baby O was born in August, just before my wedding, to my cousin and his wife. O was in a great mood and totally adorable the whole time we were shooting. I’m really lucky to have such beautiful babies in my family!

Emily — Maine Fashion Photographer
On April 5th Emily drove all the way from Keene NH to meet me in Portland. We headed to the beach because it was a gorgeous day (the weather around here is seriously strange) and shot for about 2-3 hours. It was good to finally meet and shoot with Emily since we’ve been talking about doing so for about a year! I’ve got a small preview of the shots we were able to get but there are so many more that I am still editing. These are my favorites so far.

Izaiah — Maine Child Photographer
I am really behind on my blog posts… REALLY behind! I’m booking like crazy for May and I’ve been going insane trying to proof all my sessions as of late. I will be back on top in no time! I met with Izaiah and his parents on April 2nd and they were wonderful. Izaiah wanted to play with my dogs and didn’t want to let go of the cars and trucks in his hands but his parents didn’t mind at all. Mom’s response was “This shoot is all about him and what he likes anyway, so whatever he wants to do is fine!” … LOVE THAT. We started shooting here at my house and then wandered down to the playground down the road… Izaiah wanted nothing to do with the camera but he was a joy anyway. I even carted him around for a bit so that he would start to like me.. ;) It almost worked! He was so easy going and cool with the camera, too. It was like just another day but with a playground… haha! Happy 2nd birthday Izaiah! I hope your parents love your photos.

Jess & Nico — Maine Engagement Photography
Today was a ridiculously beautiful day, thank goodness! J & N have had their engagement shoot booked with me for at least 3 weeks now, and we were all very excited that the weather held up for us. I ask every couple I meet with how they met, how they got engaged… you know, all the good stuff.. so when I asked Nico how he proposed to Jess he told me not ONE but THREE stories of how he’s proposed…. and they are all different! Apparently he’s not done, either. Jess always swore to Nico that he wouldn’t be able to surprise her, so he’s sort of set out to prove her wrong. And why not use a photoshoot to propose one more time?
Thank you both so much for today :) Sorry for almost getting us arrested… kind of ;)
